Write Urdu with Voice and Right-to-Left Support
Urdu voice typing converts spoken Urdu into editable Unicode writing. The editor uses right-to-left direction so words, punctuation and paragraphs follow the expected Urdu reading flow. Use it for notes, captions, messages and early document drafts.
How to use the Urdu typing tool
- Select a Nastaliq, Naskh or Sans Arabic font.
- Press “Start Urdu typing” and allow microphone access.
- Speak a short Urdu sentence at a normal pace.
- Review names, borrowed English words and punctuation.
- Copy your Urdu text or download it as DOC or PDF.
Choosing an Urdu Font
Noto Nastaliq Urdu provides the flowing style associated with Urdu publishing. Noto Naskh Arabic is more compact and easier to read at small sizes. Noto Sans Arabic works well for interfaces. Jameel Noori Nastaleeq, Nafees Nastaleeq and Urdu Typesetting appear when installed; otherwise a web-font fallback is used.
Improve Urdu recognition
- Keep background conversation and television noise low.
- Speak complete phrases to provide useful context.
- Pause between sentences and review one paragraph at a time.
- Correct personal names and mixed-language words manually.
Automated text can contain errors. Verify important quotations and do not rely on an unchecked transcript for legal, medical or financial records.
